Who can use family tickets?

Family tickets can be used by a group of one to three children accompanied by one or two adults when travelling together.
Children travelling as part of a family group must be aged under 16 and, if aged 11 to 15, will need proof of age ID.
An igo card allows children to qualify for longer, up to 31 August after their 16th birthday. An igo card is also a convenient way to have proof of age and it entitles holders to cheaper tickets on buses. Find out how to apply for an igo card.
There is no minimum age for children travelling on a family ticket.
Children under 5 travel for free.

Family tram travelcards

The 1-day Metrolink off-peak family travelcard gives you unlimited off-peak family travel throughout your chosen Metrolink zones.

You can travel together for one day, as many times as you want, on any tram from 9:30am on Monday to Friday, and at any time on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Price

Your ticket must be valid in all zones you travel through.

Any one zone = £3.60.
Zone 1+2 = £5.20.
Zone 2+3 or 3+4 = £4.80.
Zone 1+2+3 = £7.10.
Zone 2+3+4 = £6.90.
Zone 1+2+3+4 = £7.30.

How to buy a ticket

You must buy your ticket before your first journey. You cannot buy tickets on the tram.

You can buy a ticket:

at a ticket machine on the tram stop using cash or card (including contactless).
select your required zone combination and then choose 1-day travelcards.
You will then be able to select the family option. You will only need to add one family ticket to your selection, this will cover travel in your chosen zones for all valid members of your group.

The Metrolink weekend family travelcard gives you unlimited family travel throughout all Metrolink zones on the weekend.

You can travel together on any tram, from 6pm Friday evening until the last tram on Sunday night.

The Metrolink weekend family travelcard costs £9.50.

How to buy a travelcard

You can buy the travelcard:

on the Bee Network app.
at a ticket machine on the tram stop using cash or card (including contactless).
select weekend travelcards and then choose family. You will only need to add one family ticket to your selection, this will cover travel in all zones for all valid members of your group.

Family bus tickets

Unlimited off-peak travel together as a family on Bee Network buses for one day.

You can travel together for one day, as many times as you want, on any Bee Network bus service, from 9:30am on Monday to Friday, and at any time on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Price

The 1-day Bee Bus off-peak family ticket costs £9.
