TfGM is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with accessibility regulations
We know some parts of our website are not fully accessible:
- The keyboard focus indicator is missing from a few interactive elements on our journey planner. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.7 Focus Visible. We plan to address this by December 2025.
- When zooming in 400% on a desktop, our live chat and survey pop up tools are not responsive and obscure the page content until they are closed. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow. We plan to address this across the site by April 2026.
- The minimum ratio for colour contrast is not met on the “Plan a journey” page. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 Non-Text Content. We plan to address this by December 2025.
- Some complex images do not have a text description of the content of the image. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 Non-text content. We will complete an audit of complex images on the site by September 2025.
- Some videos do not have audio description so their visual content is not described audibly. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.5 Audio description for pre-recorded videos. We plan to address this across the site by July 2025.
PDFs and non-HTML documents
- Some of our PDFs are not accessible in a number of ways including missing text alternatives and missing document structure. We plan to complete an audit of PDFs on the site by September 2025.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix:
- PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
- Maps - but essential information must be published in an accessible format for maps intended for navigational use. TfGM has a roadmap for providing all maps in an accessible format or providing the information in an accessible alternative and is seeking opportunities to make these improvements.
- Third party content that’s under someone else’s control if TfGM did not pay for it or develop it itself.
