TravelSafe Partnership
TravelSafe is a partnership brought together to help support a safe and secure transport network across Greater Manchester.
The Partnership is jointly led by Bee Network and Greater Manchester Police, with support from:
- British Transport Police (BTP)
- The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA)
- KeolisAmey Metrolink
- Beryl
- Foundation 92
- Northern Rail
- Stagecoach
- First Manchester
- Go North West
- Diamond Buses
- Arriva
What does the partnership do?
The Partnership works together to help prevent and tackle crime, antisocial behaviour and fare evasion on Greater Manchester's public transport networks.
This includes:
- Dedicated, intelligence-led operations using resources such as knife-arches, sniffer dogs and drones.
- Visible policing with staff and officers spending more than 5,000 hours per week patrolling the Metrolink and bus networks, day and night, seven days a week.
- Community engagement with schools, colleges and universities.
The partnership also use a range of other tactics, such as Restorative Justice and neighbourhood watch schemes.
Where the situation warrants it the Partnership can:
- remove passes
- issue exclusion orders from TfGM premises
- apply for Civil Injunctions against persistent offenders.
